Derek and Ann’s Travels in Laos
1967 to 1972.
We got married and then went out to work in Johannesburg. During our time in South
Africa, we travelled around the country also going into Mozambique and Rhodesia,
now Zimbabwe. Our 2 children were born in Johannesburg. We were very happy there
and sad to leave, but for professional reasons (Derek is an accountant) it was better to
return to keep up with English tax system.
Although things have changed since living there, the countryside has not.
