2015 This was our main holiday. We went to Oman for 3 weeks with our friends Gill and Dave , with whom we have travelled with several times including around Burma (Myanmar). We hired a 4x4 and saw as much of Oman as we could. Oman is an incredible beautiful country with wonderful mountains and lovely valleys full of date palms. We had a lot of fun. Derek and Dave took turns in driving while mainly Gill, looked up in the books as to what we should be seeing. The accommodation was varied but fine. We did not go up too many steep routes, but we did drive up to one village with me wondering whether we would make it or not – needed the 4x4! In another case, we were not allowed up unless we did have a 4x4 due to the steepness of coming down and people having trouble with the brakes. All in all a great holiday as we all travel very well together.
