FEBRUARY 2002 We stopped here on our way home just for a couple of nights. It was the 10 th anniversary of the Iraq war and the flags were out as it was a Public Holiday. Interesting country and certainly we did not see many tourists. The gold souks were amazing and it was here Ann bought a lovely unusual gold necklace which is a favourite.
